Job Description:

Our client, a rapidly growing late stage SaaS start up located in San Francisco, has an opening for an Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager who will report to the Director of Finance.  This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment where individuals are passionate, driven and rewarded for their hard work and customer dedication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide accounting leadership of transactions, policies, controls.  Manage and be the point of contact for monthly accounting processes including coordination of close timelines and deliverables, including journal entries, account analyses, and accounting reconciliations
  • Prepare, review and approve financial schedules such as reporting deliverables, footnotes disclosures and providing reporting and cross-functional teams for ad hoc schedules as needed
  • Establish proper accounting methods, policies,and procedures
  • Lead, review, train and mentor accounting personnel
  • Calculate stock compensation expense using equity administration platform
  • Ensure accurate and complete financial records and reporting in compliance with legal requirements and US GAAP standards
  • Deliver budget variance analysis and other management reports. Work with departmental managers and leads to review and forecast expenses and headcount
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Perform technical research and document key accounting policies
  • Responsible for timely month-end close and financial reporting
  • Coordinate with outside counsel for equity administration matters surrounding option and restricted stock grants
  • Manage income tax compliance for federal and state and sales and use tax reporting and filing
  • Identify and lead reporting improvements to systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Responsible for financial audits and relationships with external auditors
  • Cash management



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA desired
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience; some public accounting a plus
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, reporting and compliance
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite and Bcom
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
  • High personal integrity and strong work ethic
  • Excellent writing/documentation skills
