Job Description:

Currently we are seeking a VP/Controller with 12+ years of
experience to join our client facing consulting team. We are seeking a
historically highly ranked performer who has a long-term interest in
consulting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a very talented and respected
senior-level team. This role will be mainly service and travel to clients from
Palo Alto to San Francisco and will be combined with some practice management opportunities.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage staff, senior accountants and managers on
    assignments

  • Evaluate and advise on business operations
    including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future
    revenues

  • Technical accounting capabilities including revenue
    recognition, equity matters, international expansion experience, audit support,
    investor relations and board reporting

  • Create and maintain multiple forecast models
    with both bottom up and top down approaches

  • Compile and analyze financial information to
    prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Prepare monthly financials including general
    ledger, monthly journal entries, key statistics, various detailed analyses,
    variance to budgets, complex reconciliations, etc.

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly
    and year-end close processes

  • Implement and manage several online applications
    such as, Bill.com, QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Expensify

  • Continuous management and support of budget and
    forecast activities

  • Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the
    audit process

  • Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and
    analysis of revenues and expenses

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and
    regulations

  • Function as liaison for clients with their
    bankers, insurance brokers, attorneys, tax preparers, board members and other
    outside parties as needed

Candidate requirements:

  • 12 +  years' relevant experience, including
    management experience and prior experience as a controller or higher at a public
    company

  • BA/BS in Business with concentration in Accounting;
    CPA required

  • Former public accounting experience required,
    Big 4 preferred

  • Strong leaderships and supervisory skills

  • Knowledge of one or more: QuickBooks online
    and/or QuickBooks desktop, NetSuite, Intactt, QAD, Dynamics

  • Strong general and technical accounting
    background with maintained application in prior roles

  • Effective and credible at managing the monthly
    reporting process along with meeting management’s expectations

  • Able to adapt quickly to the changing demands of
    our clients

  • Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal
    and communication skills

  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with
    a desire for continuous improvement

  • Comfortable interacting across all disciplines
    of the company

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, growing start-up
    environment and work independently and hands-on when necessary

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel; advanced Excel
    knowledge required

  • Consolidations and international accounting a
    plus

  • Cost accounting skills a plus

  • Tax accounting knowledge
